Video Of The Week: Cookies

I found this yummy chocolate chip recipe from Good Housekeeping and thought I would share it with all of you!



The ingredient list is as follows:

Preheat your oven to 375 F

In one bowl combine:

1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp bs
1/2 tsp salt
-mix

In a separate bowl combine:

1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar

blend and then add:

1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

Slowly add dry ingredients and then add:

6 oz chocolate chips
1/2 c chopped walnuts (optional)

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown!
makes about 10-12 cookies

Loving Summer

Oh Summertime, how I adore you!

I love being outside, mosquito bites and all, just soaking up the rays into my pasty white skin.
I love Watching the children frolic in the grass and wade in the cool shores at the beach!

Here is Karissa, I don't remember what she was doing when I took this picture but she just so freaking cute in her little two-piece and flower hat that I brought her back from Vegas that she has barely taken off since then.

The kids were starting to get a little bit restless so we told them to run to the top of the hill and back. They did it at least three times, but it barely tired them out! Karissa was the last one to start running up the hill, and with her long legs (yes, I am a bit envious of them) she was the first one to come back down.

This is Nancy's youngest son Nathan. A couple of times we caught him laying face down in the sand, his entire face covered in sand. I whipped out the camera and all he did was hold his hands out, full of sand, and smiled at me. What a cute kid!

We decided to take the kids Canoeing, Nancy and I took her two boys and my sister out for a ride and went and saw all of the amazing lake side homes in the area. I wish I could live on the Lake, I would never want to leave, we didn't want to leave!

Retiring Ink Colors

I know I mentioned this in a previous post, but thought it might be nice to emphasize the retiring and new colors from Close To My Heart this fall. Starting September 1st, 2010 the following colors will be retiring:

Make sure you get your favorite retiring colors before they are gone! In addition to ink pads, make sure you also grab the re-inkers, markers and cardstock in those bright summer palettes for all your scrapbooking and cardmaking enjoyment.

Convention 2010

We have just returned from Washington DC at the Close To My Heart convention and it was AMAZING!

Since arriving tuesday night we were treated like Royalty at the Gaylord National. The Hotel staff was amazing! They decorated beautifully for this event including a window hanging and mural on the stairs which are very cool!

We have learned so much exciting things that we want to share with everyone! The first bit of exciting news is that Close To My Heart will be retiring 8 of their colors for the palette and introducing 8 vibrant new colors. They are so beautiful and I cannot wait to work with them and share them with everyone!

One of my favorite things, other than getting so meet and reconnect with all of the fabulous ladies at convention, is the art wall. Throughout the year artwork is submitted to corporate office and at convention they display an entire wall of artwork. It was fabulous and I cant wait to share some of the exciting things with everyone.

After the convention was over we spent a bit of time exploring Washington, and even got to see the White House!

Next year convention will be held in the Disney Land Hotel in Anaheim. CA. We are going to take the whole family, I cant wait!
